Dept of Changes was a vintage New Orleans menswear concern I ran from late 2010-2012. At the time I had just started dressing better for work and I used my love for thrift and flea market shopping to find unique pieces. As I really became addicted to hunting the good stuff I began to unearth an archive of lost New Orleans brands including Terry & Juden.  For some crazy reason I just started buying tons of stuff, even if it wasn’t my size.

Eventually, as I began to run out of space I started selling at local fleas like Avant Garden and then later out of DNO Garden District. I really enjoyed this experience and still think about it often.

Here’s the official verbiage from a collateral piece I laid out at the beginning of the project in 2010:

Department of Changes is a purveyor of goods and garments for gentlemen. We are dedicated to the preservation of vintage New Orleans menswear and to improving the attire of today ‘s men of New Orleans.

Along with our offering of New Orleans brands like Perlis, Porter’s, and Terry & Juden, we also stock vintage American brands, books, stationery, art, books, and accessories.
